Battles against terminal illness, anxiety, and life!

Failure

Some days are easier than others over here.  While on an emotional level things were just fine today, on a practical level it was a mess.  One thing we keep under close tabs is how much Braden eats.  Today, we scored a big fat “F” for failure.  What did I convince my little man to eat?  A slice of cheese, six almonds, and a handful of Fritos.  Uggghh.  Frustrating!

Thank goodness that tomorrow is a new day.  A new day, a new opportunity to convince our little man that eating is actually enjoyable.  I will not beat myself for his lack of eating today.  I know that I did my best to get nutrition in him.  However, today it was simply not meant to be.  Ok, bring it on tomorrow!

  1. That’s the way to think about it!

    “Never give up! Never Surrender!”

Ok that’s actually from a movie but I use it all the time for our family. Another favorite quote comes from Anne of Green Gables…

“Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it.” You are doing a great job.

  2. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Obviously I don’t mean to minimize the very real feeding challenges you’re dealing with, but remember that “typical” 2-3 year olds also have days where they’ll eat nothing but a cracker, two grapes, and a little air. Every day is different and you are doing a great job!
