There is so much new going on around the Winks’ house! Spring is about to well…spring! With that comes a very special project with Special Spaces. “Special Spaces is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that creates dream bedrooms for children with life threatening illnesses. Our premise is that these children spend an enormous amount of time in their bedrooms and need a
place of comfort, peace, hope and encouragement while addressing their medical needs.” Braden has been selected as the very first recipient in Alabama!
Currently our little man is “roomless.” You see, he voluntarily gave up his room when his baby sister, Piper, was born. The ultimate plan was to sell our home and graduate into a bigger one. Although the houseing market seemed to have different plans in store for us. So, we considered turning our dining room into a bedroom. However, Braden’s needs are too large for the small room. The task is now converting our garage into a space where Braden can receive his physical therapy, relax, find some quiet time away from his two busy sisters, and enjoy. The space will be handicap accessible unlike the rest of the home. This space will make a HUGE difference in our lives on so many levels.
We are looking for all kinds of materials, donations, volunteers to help move, haul, and help in so many ways! Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or the Chattanooga Special Spaces. I will include their information at the bottom of this post. Always one to thing big picture, my ultimate goal is to become a director here in Alabama for other children like Braden who are scaling mountains. Thanks everybody for riding along this journey! I have created a FB page as well for this project. Be sure to come check us out!
